ALPL is participating in a county-wide library gingerbread competition sponsored by "Christmas Around the World" festival taking place at the Lake Erie Crushers Stadium from Nov. 29th through Jan. 4th. But first, we're calling all bakers - professional to novice to group efforts, to participate and submit your gingerbread creations. And one lucky ALPL Gingerbread Contest finalist will be chosen to move on to final voting at Lake Erie Crushers stadium during their "Christmas Around the World" festival November 29-December 14 and could win the $250 prize from the event!

1.) Registration: Gingerbread houses must be registered with ALPL no later than Nov. 15th.
2.) House drop-off: All houses must be dropped off at ALPL between November 18th - 21st.
3.) Voting: Gingerbread creations will be voted on by the public in-person and via Facebook from Nov. 22nd - 26th.

There is no fee to participate and this is a friendly competition. We ask only that all houses are made out of edible materials (but no gelatin or buttercream frosting) and mounted on a sturdy base that does not exceed 12” deep by 20” wide. Taste is NOT a factor. Kits are acceptable. There is no particular theme, so let your creativity be your guide!

The overall winner in each category will receive a $25 gift card to Target and some Library goodies.
The gingerbread house with the most overall votes will move on to the "Christmas Around the World" festival gingerbread house competition.

*Gingerbread houses may be picked up no later than, Dec. 12th or they will be disposed.
