Get a Library Card

General Library Card Information:

Any resident of the state of Ohio may register for a library card. Your library card is free and may be used to borrow any of our materials, including books, DVDs, videos, books on CD, and hotspots, along with access to our FREE research databases, digital library, and other electronic resources.

Online-Only Card

If you already have an ALPL card, please DO NOT request an ONLINE card. Call the Library to renew your Library Card privileges.

By applying online, you will receive a Library Card # (User ID) and PIN via email, after which you will be able to access ALPL’s online databases, and download ebooks, audiobooks, movies, and music through OverDrive and Hoopla. Online-only cards are only good for electronic materials and will expire after 90 day, at which point you can visit the Library, bring a picture identification, such as a Driver’s License, and proof of current address (utility bill, lease agreement) to the Circulation desk. A library card will be issued to you at that time. You will then have full borrowing privileges. Online-only cards will not be issued if you already have a card in our system.
