DiscoveryWorks is FREE for all who visit.

Visitors will find the immersive experiences, exhibits, and activities have been developed to engage children at all ages and learning levels.

The $1.2-million-dollar renovation offers a completely refreshed and reimagined space. With this renovation we had added entirely new interactive exhibits that will spark creativity and fostering learning in new ways. The redesigned space also offers a variety of hands-on activities that are designed to inspire curiosity, learning, and fun. Whether visitors are exploring science, art, or technology, there is something for everyone.

The updated exhibits are not only exciting but are also carefully designed to accommodate children of all abilities and ages, ensuring that every child can engage, play, and discover at their own pace. This renovation reflects our ongoing commitment to providing an inclusive, accessible, and enriching environment for children and families.

Of course, included in the renovations are additional seating and activities tables, inclusive activities for all abilities, and an updated classroom lab for school and group visits, along with programming.

We can’t wait to welcome you to the new DiscoveryWorks. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a first-time visitor, we are confident you’ll enjoy the enhanced learning experiences and exciting new features we have to offer. Initiative for Innovation

First opened to the public in 1995, DiscoveryWorks (DW) was designed as an inventive space to include a variety of interactive, multi-sensory, and hands-on learning exhibits. For almost 30 years of serving the community, DiscoveryWorks has proudly continued to be a place for generations of inquisitive minds, visionary thinkers, and daring dreamers.

The Initiative for Innovation is a $1.2 million giving effort to help generate support for the future of DiscoveryWorks at ALPL. We’re re-imaging many beloved areas of play, many drawing from our region’s rich history. Additional educational adventures will be incorporated into DW with new and imaginative exhibits as well. And we’ll be expanding the hours open to the public for more fun-filled engagement. Lastly, our classroom lab, which supports the local scientific curriculum throughout the year, will see a bright refresh.

This transformational investment in the future of DiscoveryWorks at Avon Lake Public Library will aid in allowing people of all backgrounds and abilities to achieve their highest potential, ensure today’s youth become tomorrow’s STEM leaders, and continue connecting our area’s rich past to a promising and exciting future.

Exhibit Sponsorship

Starting at $15,000+, you can sponsor one of the new or reimagined DiscoveryWorks exhibits for all visitors to engage with and enjoy. This gives you an opportunity to help support a reimagined current exhibit, create an exclusive one-of-a-kind customized exhibit, or fund a brand-new display.

Exhibits sponsorship opportunities are limited. Each exhibit is available for exclusive sponsorship rights. Your donation is tax-deductible.

Options include updating favorite exhibits such as the Build-A-House, Planet Scale, Kaleidoscope, and others. You can also help bring a new experience to the community with a Bubble Booth or Praxiscope or collaborate with DW to create a specialized exhibit.

Your gift includes your name and/or display on the exhibit, Facebook recognition, a sponsor window decal, name recognition and a link on our ALPL campaign website, and two tickets to the preview night event.
