At beginning of non-fiction shelves, across from the Adult fireplace area. Notable and useful works in most major subject areas. Includes dictionaries and thesauri, subject-specific encyclopedias. Also, health and medical, business, legal forms, tax information, collectibles, historical, and biographical sources. Current encyclopedias are at the end of this section.
 
Homework Center
At end of Reference section, following Encyclopedias. Many textbooks used by Avon Lake Schools. In-library use only.
 
Career Resources
Back side of the Reference section.  Resume, cover letter, and interview guides for every kind of job. College admissions, tests, ratings and scholarships. Test preparation guides, including Civil Service Exam books. Vocational guidance and career change sources. Most materials may be checked out.

At end of Career Resources section. May be checked out.
 
Atlas Stand
On wall near Newspaper collection.  Local, state, nation, world, other worlds. Thematic and historical atlases.
 
Ready Reference (consumer and senior information)
At end of Fiction collection.  Consumer Reports magazines and buying guides; information on saving money and using government services. Value Line: Investment Survey, Investment Survey – Expanded Edition. Documents held for public review and comment.  Material held for special school assignments.
